CIF
 
[Abk. für Common Intermediate Format, dt. »allgemeines Zwischenformat«], ein verbreitetes Standardformat zur Übertragung von Bildern in der Bildtelefonie sowie in Videokonferenzen. Es ist Teil des ITU-Standards (ITU) H.261 bzw. H.263. Das Format hat mit 352 × 288 Bildpunkten eine höhere Auflösung als das ebenfalls stark verbreitete Format QCIF. Zur deutlichen Unterscheidung von diesem wird das CIF gelegentlich auch als FCIF (Full Common Intermediate Format) bezeichnet.
